About Us
PyCon Ireland is organised by volunteers from the Irish Python community. Every year, a small team comes together to bring Ireland's premier Python conference to life — and sometimes, even a Belgian shows up to lend a hand.
The Organisation Behind the Conference
Behind the scenes, the conference is made possible by Python Ireland, a non-profit Irish company (Company Limited by Guarantee). Python Ireland exists to support and grow the Python community in Ireland.
As the legal and financial entity behind PyCon Ireland, Python Ireland handles all contractual, financial, and compliance aspects of the conference — so the volunteer team can focus on what matters: the programme, the people, and the community.
Python Ireland is governed by a board comprising a President, a Vice-President, and additional board members elected by the community.
Community-driven
Every organiser and volunteer gives their time freely. There are no paid staff — just people who love Python and want to share that love with the community.
Non-profit
Python Ireland is a Company Limited by Guarantee — a non-profit structure under Irish law. Any surplus from the conference is reinvested into the community.
Part of the global PSF network
PyCon Ireland is a community conference affiliated with the Python Software Foundation, which supports Python communities worldwide.
